Miami, Florida, originally inhabited by the Tequesta tribe, was officially founded in 1896. The city’s strategic location on the southeastern coast of the United States made it a prime location for trade and transportation. In the early 20th century, Miami experienced a population boom as people flocked to the city for its warm climate and booming economy. Miami played a crucial role during World War II as a training center for the U.S. military, and after the war, it became a popular destination for tourism and retirees. In the 1980s, Miami gained notoriety as a hub for drug trafficking and organized crime, but in the following decades, the city underwent a revitalization and reemerged as a cultural and economic center in the United States. Today, Miami is known for its diverse population, vibrant arts and music scene, and booming real estate market. The city continues to attract visitors from around the world who come to enjoy its beautiful beaches, luxurious hotels, and vibrant nightlife.
