Welcome to the Newto News for March of 2024. My name is Zack Cockfield, and my team and I created Newtomedia as a way for visitors or new residents to get information about a city. Each month we bring together resources that will update you on the history, amenities, culture, future opportunities and all other things inside a city that make it unique. We also hope to be a resource for connecting you with people and businesses that can help you live a better life. If you find our efforts useful, please click on the links to get more information!

Green Bay, Wisconsin has a rich history dating back over 400 years. The area was originally inhabited by the Menominee, Ho-Chunk, and Fox Native American tribes. French explorer Jean Nicolet was the first European to set foot in the region in 1634, establishing trade relationships with the local tribes. In the early 19th century, the fur trade industry flourished in Green Bay, attracting more settlers to the area. The city was officially incorporated in 1854 and quickly grew into a bustling hub for shipping and commerce. Green Bay became known for its paper mills, meatpacking plants, and breweries, leading to further economic growth and prosperity. Today, the city is most famous for being the home of the Green Bay Packers, one of the oldest and most storied franchises in the National Football League. With a strong sense of community pride and a thriving downtown area, Green Bay continues to be a vibrant and dynamic city with a unique blend of history and modernity.
