Welcome to the Newto News for April of 2025. My name is Zack Cockfield, and my team and I created Newtomedia as a way for visitors or new residents to get information about a city. Each month we bring together resources that will update you on the history, amenities, culture, future opportunities and all other things inside a city that make it unique. We also hope to be a resource for connecting you with people and businesses that can help you live a better life. If you find our efforts useful, please click on the links to get more information!

Green Bay, Wisconsin was originally inhabited by the Menominee, Ho-Chunk, and Ojibwe Native American tribes. French explorers Jacques Marquette and Louis Joliet were the first Europeans to visit the area in the 17th century, establishing trade relationships with the Native American tribes. In the 18th century, the British gained control of Green Bay after the French and Indian War. The city became a trading post and grew into a hub for the fur trade industry. During the 19th century, Green Bay developed into a prominent industrial city, with industries such as paper mills, lumber, and shipbuilding driving its economy. The city also became known for its meatpacking and dairy industries. In the 20th century, Green Bay became famous for its football team, the Green Bay Packers, who have won multiple championships and have a loyal fan base. Today, Green Bay is a thriving city with a diverse economy, strong community spirit, and a rich history.
