Welcome to the Newto News for March of 2024. My name is Zack Cockfield, and my team and I created Newtomedia as a way for visitors or new residents to get information about a city. Each month we bring together resources that will update you on the history, amenities, culture, future opportunities and all other things inside a city that make it unique. We also hope to be a resource for connecting you with people and businesses that can help you live a better life. If you find our efforts useful, please click on the links to get more information!

Fort Collins, Colorado was originally home to the Arapaho and Cheyenne Native American tribes. The area was settled by Europeans in the mid-19th century, and the town was officially founded in 1864 as a military outpost during the Indian Wars. The city was named after William Collins, a military officer who established the fort. As the settlement grew, it became a center for agriculture and trade, with the establishment of farms, ranches, and businesses. In the late 19th century, Fort Collins experienced a boom in population and economic growth due to the expansion of the railroad through the region. The city continued to prosper into the 20th century, becoming known for its vibrant cultural scene and educational institutions such as Colorado State University. Today, Fort Collins is a bustling city known for its outdoor recreation, craft breweries, and thriving arts community. Its rich history and natural beauty continue to attract visitors and residents alike.
