Welcome to the Newto News for March of 2024. My name is Zack Cockfield, and my team and I created Newtomedia as a way for visitors or new residents to get information about a city. Each month we bring together resources that will update you on the history, amenities, culture, future opportunities and all other things inside a city that make it unique. We also hope to be a resource for connecting you with people and businesses that can help you live a better life. If you find our efforts useful, please click on the links to get more information!

Denver, Colorado was founded in 1858 as a mining town during the Pike’s Peak Gold Rush. Originally named “Denver City” after Kansas Territorial Governor James W. Denver, the town quickly grew as prospectors and settlers flocked to the area in search of fortune. By 1861, Denver had become the territorial capital of Colorado. Throughout the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Denver continued to thrive as a hub for mining, agriculture, and transportation. The city’s population boomed with the completion of major railroads and the discovery of silver in nearby Leadville. In 1893, Denver hosted the World’s Fair, solidifying its status as a major city in the western United States. Today, Denver is a vibrant metropolis known for its outdoor recreational opportunities, thriving arts and culture scene, and booming tech industry. With a diverse population and a strong economy, Denver continues to be a popular destination for visitors and residents alike.
