Dallas, Texas, known as the “Big D,” has a rich and storied history dating back to the early 19th century. Founded in 1841, Dallas quickly grew into a major commercial and transportation hub with the arrival of railroads in the late 1870s. The city played a crucial role in the oil industry boom of the early 20th century, becoming a center for oil production and distribution. Dallas gained national attention in 1963 when President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dealey Plaza, forever marking the city’s place in American history. Throughout the latter half of the 20th century, Dallas continued to grow and prosper, becoming a major center for banking, commerce, and technology. Today, Dallas is a vibrant and diverse city with a thriving arts and culture scene, world-class dining, and a booming economy. Its iconic skyline, including the famous Reunion Tower, serves as a symbol of its ongoing evolution and success.
