Bozeman, Montana, originally inhabited by the Native American tribes of the Shoshone, Nez Perce, and Crow, was founded in 1864 by John Bozeman. The city quickly grew as a hub for fur trading and agriculture, attracting settlers seeking to take advantage of the rich lands surrounding the Gallatin Valley. Bozeman became known for its bustling Main Street, lined with saloons, hotels, and general stores.
