Welcome to the Newto News for May of 2025. My name is Zack Cockfield, and my team and I created Newtomedia as a way for visitors or new residents to get information about a city. Each month we bring together resources that will update you on the history, amenities, culture, future opportunities and all other things inside a city that make it unique. We also hope to be a resource for connecting you with people and businesses that can help you live a better life. If you find our efforts useful, please click on the links to get more information!

Bozeman, Montana was founded in the early 1860s as a small agricultural community by John Bozeman, a pioneer and fur trapper. The town quickly grew in size due to its proximity to the booming mining industry in the nearby mountains. In the late 19th century, Bozeman became a major hub for the cattle and railroad industries, further propelling its growth and prosperity. Throughout the years, Bozeman has experienced its fair share of ups and downs, including devastating fires in the early 20th century and economic hardship during the Great Depression. However, the city always managed to bounce back and thrive. Today, Bozeman is known for its stunning natural beauty, with the nearby Yellowstone National Park and Bridger Mountains offering endless opportunities for outdoor recreation. The city has also become a hub for technology and education, with Montana State University attracting students and professionals from all over the country. Bozeman continues to grow and evolve while still preserving its rich history and small-town charm.
