Welcome to the Newto News for March of 2024. My name is Zack Cockfield, and my team and I created Newtomedia as a way for visitors or new residents to get information about a city. Each month we bring together resources that will update you on the history, amenities, culture, future opportunities and all other things inside a city that make it unique. We also hope to be a resource for connecting you with people and businesses that can help you live a better life. If you find our efforts useful, please click on the links to get more information!

Aurora, Colorado was first established in the late 19th century as a small town called Fletcher, named after its founder, Donald Fletcher. The town quickly grew as a result of the nearby silver boom and the arrival of the railroad. In 1907, Fletcher was renamed Aurora, inspired by the natural beauty of the Aurora Borealis. During World War II, Aurora saw significant growth with the opening of the Fitzsimons Army Medical Center, which brought in a large number of military personnel and their families. The city continued to expand in the post-war period, becoming a major suburb of Denver. Today, Aurora is the third-largest city in Colorado and a diverse urban center with a rich cultural heritage. It is home to a thriving arts scene, a strong economy, and numerous parks and recreational opportunities. With its blend of history and modern amenities, Aurora continues to attract residents and visitors alike.
