Ogden, Utah was founded in 1848 by Mormon pioneers seeking a place to settle and establish a community. Named after Peter Skene Ogden, a fur trader and explorer, the city quickly grew into a thriving hub for trade and commerce. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Ogden became a major junction point for the transcontinental railroad, solidifying its position as a key transportation hub in the region.
