Los Angeles, California, known as the “City of Angels,” has a rich history dating back to the 18th century when it was settled by Spanish missionaries. In 1781, the city was officially founded by Spanish governor Felipe de Neve and was named “El Pueblo de la Reina de los Ángeles” (The Town of the Queen of Angels).
