Welcome to the Newto News for April of 2025. My name is Zack Cockfield, and my team and I created Newtomedia as a way for visitors or new residents to get information about a city. Each month we bring together resources that will update you on the history, amenities, culture, future opportunities and all other things inside a city that make it unique. We also hope to be a resource for connecting you with people and businesses that can help you live a better life. If you find our efforts useful, please click on the links to get more information!

Fort Worth, located in the heart of the lone star state of Texas, has a rich and colorful history that dates back to the mid-19th century. The city was established in 1849 as an army outpost to protect settlers from Native American attacks along the Trinity River. As the cattle industry began to boom in the late 1800s, Fort Worth quickly became known as “Cowtown” due to its role as a major trading hub for cattle ranchers driving their herds along the Chisholm Trail. The city’s economy flourished, attracting banking and commerce, as well as establishing itself as a center for the meatpacking industry. Over the years, Fort Worth has grown into a thriving metropolis with a diverse economy, vibrant arts scene, and world-renowned cultural district. The city is also home to numerous colleges and universities, as well as major corporations. Today, Fort Worth stands proudly as a modern city with a rich Western heritage.
