Welcome to the Newto News for March of 2025. My name is Zack Cockfield, and my team and I created Newtomedia as a way for visitors or new residents to get information about a city. Each month we bring together resources that will update you on the history, amenities, culture, future opportunities and all other things inside a city that make it unique. We also hope to be a resource for connecting you with people and businesses that can help you live a better life. If you find our efforts useful, please click on the links to get more information!

Fayetteville, Arkansas was founded in 1828 by settlers who were attracted to the area’s fertile land and abundant natural resources. The city quickly grew into a bustling community, serving as a hub for trade and commerce in the region. In the mid-19th century, Fayetteville played a significant role in the Civil War, with both Union and Confederate forces occupying the city at different times. After the war, Fayetteville experienced a period of rapid growth and prosperity, thanks in part to the arrival of the railroad in the late 1800s. The city became known for its thriving agricultural industry, particularly in apples and grapes. In the 20th century, Fayetteville saw further development and modernization, becoming home to the University of Arkansas in 1871. Today, Fayetteville is a vibrant city with a diverse economy, renowned for its arts and cultural scene, outdoor recreational opportunities, and strong sense of community pride.
