Welcome to the Newto News for March of 2024. My name is Zack Cockfield, and my team and I created Newtomedia as a way for visitors or new residents to get information about a city. Each month we bring together resources that will update you on the history, amenities, culture, future opportunities and all other things inside a city that make it unique. We also hope to be a resource for connecting you with people and businesses that can help you live a better life. If you find our efforts useful, please click on the links to get more information!

Denver, Colorado was founded in 1858 as a mining town during the Pikes Peak Gold Rush. Originally named Denver City in honor of Kansas territorial governor James W. Denver, the city quickly grew as miners flocked to the area in search of gold and silver. By the late 1800s, Denver had become a major transportation hub with the completion of railroads connecting the city to the rest of the country. Denver’s population continued to boom through the early 1900s, fueled by the construction of the Denver Union Station and the Colorado State Capitol building. The city became known for its diverse and vibrant culture, with a mix of Native American, Hispanic, and European influences. In the modern era, Denver has evolved into a thriving metropolis known for its outdoor recreation opportunities, arts and culture scene, and booming economy. With a strong focus on sustainability and environmental preservation, Denver continues to attract visitors and residents alike to its scenic Rocky Mountain setting.
