Welcome to the Newto News for August of 2025. My name is Zack Cockfield, and my team and I created Newtomedia as a way for visitors or new residents to get information about a city. Each month we bring together resources that will update you on the history, amenities, culture, future opportunities and all other things inside a city that make it unique. We also hope to be a resource for connecting you with people and businesses that can help you live a better life. If you find our efforts useful, please click on the links to get more information!

Denver, Colorado, founded in 1858, was originally a mining town during the Pikes Peak Gold Rush. Named after Kansas Territorial Governor James W. Denver, the city quickly grew as miners and settlers flocked to the area in search of gold and opportunities. By the late 19th century, Denver had become a thriving hub for trade and commerce due to its strategic location along the transcontinental railroad. In the early 20th century, Denver experienced a boom in population and development, with the construction of skyscrapers, highways, and public transportation systems. The city also became known for its cultural attractions such as the Denver Art Museum and the Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Today, Denver is a vibrant metropolis known for its outdoor recreational opportunities, craft breweries, and thriving arts and music scene. The city continues to grow and evolve, attracting residents and visitors alike with its mix of modern amenities and historic charm.
