Daytona Beach, Florida, has a rich history dating back hundreds of years. Originally inhabited by the Timucua tribe, the area was later settled by Spanish explorers in the late 16th century. In the 19th century, Daytona Beach became a popular destination for wealthy northerners seeking respite from the cold winters.
