Welcome to the Newto News for January of 2026. My name is Zack Cockfield, and my team and I created Newtomedia as a way for visitors or new residents to get information about a city. Each month we bring together resources that will update you on the history, amenities, culture, future opportunities and all other things inside a city that make it unique. We also hope to be a resource for connecting you with people and businesses that can help you live a better life. If you find our efforts useful, please click on the links to get more information!

Bozeman, Montana, founded in 1864, has a rich history rooted in the mining and ranching industries. Named after John M. Bozeman, a pioneer and trailblazer in the region, the city quickly became a hub for commerce and trade in the Wild West. As settlers flocked to the area, Bozeman grew rapidly and became a major stop along the Bozeman Trail, a crucial route for travelers and traders heading to the gold fields of Virginia City. The discovery of gold in the nearby mountains further fueled the city’s growth and prosperity. In the late 19th century, Bozeman evolved into a center for education and culture with the establishment of Montana State University in 1893. The university brought a diverse population to the city and solidified its reputation as a vibrant and dynamic community. Today, Bozeman is known for its stunning natural surroundings, outdoor recreational opportunities, and thriving arts and culinary scene, making it a popular destination for visitors and residents alike.
