Welcome to the Newto News for March of 2025. My name is Zack Cockfield, and my team and I created Newtomedia as a way for visitors or new residents to get information about a city. Each month we bring together resources that will update you on the history, amenities, culture, future opportunities and all other things inside a city that make it unique. We also hope to be a resource for connecting you with people and businesses that can help you live a better life. If you find our efforts useful, please click on the links to get more information!

Aurora, Colorado was founded in the 19th century as a small town on the outskirts of Denver. Originally a farming community, Aurora quickly grew in the late 19th and early 20th centuries with the discovery of gold and silver in the nearby mountains. The city’s population boomed during World War II when the Fitzsimons Army Hospital was established in Aurora to treat wounded soldiers. After the war, the city continued to grow as a suburban community, attracting families with its affordable housing and proximity to Denver. In the 1980s and 1990s, Aurora experienced rapid development and expansion, with new shopping centers, schools, and residential neighborhoods springing up throughout the city. Today, Aurora is a thriving metropolis with a diverse population, vibrant cultural scene, and strong economy. It is known for its beautiful parks and outdoor recreation opportunities, as well as its excellent healthcare facilities and top-rated schools.
