Welcome to the Newto News for June of 2025. My name is Zack Cockfield, and my team and I created Newtomedia as a way for visitors or new residents to get information about a city. Each month we bring together resources that will update you on the history, amenities, culture, future opportunities and all other things inside a city that make it unique. We also hope to be a resource for connecting you with people and businesses that can help you live a better life. If you find our efforts useful, please click on the links to get more information!

Aurora, Colorado was founded in the 1880s as a small town near Denver. Originally named Fletcher, it was later changed to Aurora, after the Roman goddess of dawn, in 1907. The town grew rapidly in the early 20th century, fueled by the expansion of the railroads and the nearby military bases. During World War II, Aurora became a hub for military personnel and their families, leading to further growth and development. In the post-war years, the city continued to expand, attracting new residents and businesses seeking affordable housing and a vibrant community. Today, Aurora is a diverse and thriving city with a population of over 380,000 residents. It is known for its cultural diversity, numerous parks and outdoor recreational opportunities, and strong economy. The city’s rich history and growing population make it a dynamic and exciting place to live and visit.
