Welcome to the Newto News for February of 2025. My name is Zack Cockfield, and my team and I created Newtomedia as a way for visitors or new residents to get information about a city. Each month we bring together resources that will update you on the history, amenities, culture, future opportunities and all other things inside a city that make it unique. We also hope to be a resource for connecting you with people and businesses that can help you live a better life. If you find our efforts useful, please click on the links to get more information!

Aurora, Colorado was originally founded in the 1880s during the silver boom in the Rocky Mountains. The town quickly grew as miners and entrepreneurs flocked to the area in search of riches. However, when the silver market crashed in the late 1890s, Aurora fell on hard times and many residents were forced to leave. In the early 20th century, Aurora began to reinvent itself as a more diverse and industrial city. The opening of the Fitzsimons Army Hospital in 1918 brought a new wave of residents and economic growth to the area. During World War II, the hospital expanded and became a major center for medical research and training. In the post-war years, Aurora continued to expand rapidly, attracting new industries and residents looking for a fresh start. Today, Aurora is a bustling city with a diverse population and a strong economy. Its proximity to Denver and the beautiful Rocky Mountains make it a popular destination for tourists and outdoor enthusiasts alike.
