Welcome to the Newto News for May of 2025. My name is Zack Cockfield, and my team and I created Newtomedia as a way for visitors or new residents to get information about a city. Each month we bring together resources that will update you on the history, amenities, culture, future opportunities and all other things inside a city that make it unique. We also hope to be a resource for connecting you with people and businesses that can help you live a better life. If you find our efforts useful, please click on the links to get more information!

Anaheim, California was founded in 1857 by German immigrants who were seeking to establish a new agricultural community in Southern California. The area was initially known for its fertile soil and abundant water supply, which made it an ideal location for farming. As the city grew, it became a major hub for citrus production, with orange groves covering much of the surrounding landscape. In the early 20th century, Anaheim experienced a boom in population and development with the construction of the Disneyland Resort in 1955. The theme park drew millions of visitors each year, turning Anaheim into a popular tourist destination and boosting the local economy. Today, Anaheim is a vibrant city with a diverse population and a thriving economy. In addition to Disneyland, the city is home to numerous sports teams, cultural attractions, and entertainment venues. Anaheim continues to evolve and grow, while still honoring its rich agricultural and immigrant history.
