Welcome to the Newto News for March of 2025. My name is Zack Cockfield, and my team and I created Newtomedia as a way for visitors or new residents to get information about a city. Each month we bring together resources that will update you on the history, amenities, culture, future opportunities and all other things inside a city that make it unique. We also hope to be a resource for connecting you with people and businesses that can help you live a better life. If you find our efforts useful, please click on the links to get more information!

Founded in 1857 by German immigrants, Anaheim, California began as a rural community known for its vineyards and orange groves. In the late 19th century, the area experienced a population boom with the arrival of the railroad, making it a vital transportation hub for the region. In the early 20th century, Anaheim became famous for its citrus industry and was dubbed the “Home of the Orange,” leading to the development of several packing houses and fruit exchanges in the area. In 1955, Disneyland opened its doors in Anaheim, forever changing the city’s landscape and economy. The theme park quickly became a major tourist destination, drawing millions of visitors each year and spurring the growth of hotels, restaurants, and other businesses in the area. Today, Anaheim is a vibrant and diverse city with a rich history and a thriving economy based on tourism, entertainment, and technology.
