Welcome to the Newto News for February of 2026. My name is Zack Cockfield, and my team and I created Newtomedia as a way for visitors or new residents to get information about a city. Each month we bring together resources that will update you on the history, amenities, culture, future opportunities and all other things inside a city that make it unique. We also hope to be a resource for connecting you with people and businesses that can help you live a better life. If you find our efforts useful, please click on the links to get more information!

Anaheim, California was founded in 1857 by a group of German immigrants. Originally a small farming community, Anaheim experienced rapid growth in the late 19th century with the expansion of the railroad and the arrival of citrus farming. In 1955, Disneyland opened its doors in Anaheim, becoming the first ever theme park in the world and forever changing the city’s future. Throughout the 20th century, Anaheim continued to grow and diversify its economy, attracting major corporations and becoming a hub for tourism and entertainment. The city also became home to professional sports teams, including the Anaheim Ducks hockey team and the Los Angeles Angels baseball team. Today, Anaheim is a bustling city with a diverse population and thriving economy. It continues to be a popular destination for tourists, drawn to attractions such as Disneyland, the Anaheim Convention Center, and the vibrant dining and shopping scene.
